GREENVILLE (SC) COUNTY LIBRARY SYSTEM
REASONABLE ACCOMMODATIONS POLICY FOR LIBRARY USERS IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE AMERICANS WITH DISABILITIES ACT (ADA)
In accordance with the requirements of Title II of the Americans With Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA), the Greenville County Library System (hereinafter referred to as "Library") will provide accommodation on request for physical access, communications, or other needs to ensure participation in the services, programs, and activities of the Library by persons with disabilities.
The Library will make reasonable modifications to policies and procedures in an effort to equally serve persons with disabilities. For example, individuals with service animals are welcome in all Library facilities.
To further comply with Title II and ensure that staff and public entities are properly informed of policies and procedures pertaining to the ADA, Procedures for Providing Reasonable Accommodations in Accordance with ADA are provided to all Library employees, the Library's Americans with Disabilities Act Notice is available on the Library's website (www.greenvillelibrary.org) and posted in printed format at each Library facility, and the Library's Americans with Disabilities Act Grievance Procedure is available on the Library's website and in print format at public service desks in all Library facilities.
Note: This policy replaces the Americans With Disabilities Act Reasonable Accommodations for Library Users – Policy and Procedures of the Americans with Disabilities Transition Plan Submitted to the South Carolina State Library, 1/25/93.
